Suggested Tasks for Third And Fourth Class

Chat to your child about what they are reading. What is their favourite part/character?

Comprehension Strategies

Keep an eye out for opportunities to check and consolidate spellings during the day for example playing the game hangman with spellings. Children could also put tricky spellings into spelling stories.

Mathematics

Try to fit in some tables practice if possible (See some handy games below!) and try setting some mental maths challenges. Real life maths activities are important such as helping with the shopping list, weighing out ingredients or telling the time. Playing board games such as Snakes and Ladders or Monopoly are a fun way of including maths activities during the day.
