A Message From Ms. Mangan
Hello again, I hope everyone is keeping well. I am so looking forward to the time we can all meet again.
I miss all your lovely smiles. Until then please keep helping out at home as much as possible.
I hope your room is tidy!!!
Keep smiling and keep up our challenge of being the reason someone smiles today.
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Work will be posted on the Aladdin Connect App.
I hope it is working well for everyone. Please don't feel under any pressure to upload photos of work back to me. Under no circumstances do I want to add any more stress and worry to these stressful times. However, I do love hearing from my little munchkins if you do have some time over the week. Even just to put up a photo of the piece of work they are most proud of. Remember these are only suggested tasks. The most important thing is everyone is safe and well.
Remember to be extra vigilant when your child is on Youtube.

Topic 21 ~ Number Patterns And Sequences
First, let's revise patterns. Why not go on a pattern hunt around your home - look at tiles, wallpaper, wrapping paper, toys, furniture etc.
Then create some patterns using Lego.
Challenge a family member to create a pattern and see can you continue it.
Next, Can you answer this question before you open the link?

The chapter then goes on to number sentences. A number sentence is a mathematical sentence, made up of numbers and signs. They are simply the numerical expression of a word problem.
For example If I had 37 Pokemon cards in one pocket and 28 in another pocket.
How many have I altogether?
So the number sentence is 37 + 28 = 65

In 3rd class we learn two new 3D shapes. The Triangular Prism and the Pyramid.
A Triangular Prism has 5 faces, 9 edges and 6 vertices examples are toblerone, tent and roof of a house.

Topic 20 ~ 2D Shapes
Firstly, can you define what is a 2D shape?
There are regular and irregular 2D shapes all around us.
A 2D shape is regular if all the sides are the same size and all the angles are the same. An angle is formed when two lines meet at a shared point.
Here is a regular 2D shape.

Irregular 2D shapes do not have sides which are all the same length or angles that are all the same size
What is tessellation?
Tessellation is a pattern of 2D shapes that fits together perfectly with no holes or overlapping.
