Snow Day Fun

The girls took on the boys today in a snowman building contest. Much fun was had ☃️

6th Class received the Sacrament of Confirmation last week. The children worked hard to prepare for it and took turns reading at mass every week. We thank Bishop Deenihan for a lovely ceremony and a special day was had by all.

We tried to capture their jubilant mood in school this week!

Lá Fhéile Bríde - St Brigid's Day

St. Brigid was born in Faughart, just outside Dundalk, Co Louth. Brigid is our Patroness Saint. In Ireland, we believe that her feast day heralds the beginning of Spring.

Today we made traditional St. Brigid's crosses in class.

O'Growney Chess Club / Lá Fichille

The two 6th classes have joined forces to form a school chess club, set up by Mr Sheridan. We took part in an online tournament against many other primary schools across the country. We came 2nd and were delighted with our performance!

We began to design and create sets, costumes & props for our Christmas play:

We are learning to play chess and have begun an in-class chess league. We hope to play against Mr Sheridan's class and in time, against children in other schools.

Book Fair for Pakistan

Along with Ms Mangan's 3rd class, we organised and held a book fair to support our friends in Pakistan, who are trying to rebuild after devastating floods destroyed large parts of the country, causing huge loss of life. We received great support from the whole school community and raised over €800 which we were very proud to donate.
