Welcome to O'Growney National School's Website
The 6th Class of O’ Growney N.S have, in conjunction with Meath Enterprise Board, created a business around making stress balls. They will be selling their hand made Stress Balls to the children from 2nd to 5th class on Friday the 10th of May in the front hall of the school at lunchtime. The price and quality will vary depending on the design. There are limited stocks available, however, there is also no obligation to purchase.
Amhrán Uí Ghramhnaigh
Mr. Sheridan and Ms. Mulholland wrote a song about our school recently for Seachtain Na Gaeilge. The video features our wonderful pupils and is sung by the 5th and 6th class choir. We hope you enjoy watching it.
Eason's Spelling Bee
Congratulations to Keira Monaghan from Ms. Gilsenan's 5th class who recently represented our school in Ratoath, in the Meath round of the Eason's Spelling Bee. Firstly, Keira had to beat off stiff competition from 5th and 6th class in our own school. She then went on to represent our school in the Meath Round. Keira put in a great performance on the day and certainly did us proud. She brought along wonderful support in the form of Aisling Smith and Ava Collins. We are all very proud of her.
Our MDL Girls Soccer Stars
Some of the 5th and 6th class girls went to the MDL pitches in Navan to play a soccer tournament. Between the two teams, the girls won 5 matches. Cara McNamee was on fire scoring 10 goals altogether. Our other scorers were Fiona, Laura, Niamh and Ema. Well done girls, you did the school proud!!!
Someone Like Me
Someone Like Me is a national art competition for primary schools run in association with the National Disability Authority. The competition aims to promote disability awareness and give a greater understanding of what unites children of differing abilities. Each class in the school submitted an entry and we were lucky enough to have a double win! The very talented Hanna Furgala from Ms Foy’s 1st class scooped the prize for the individual, junior category in Co Meath and Mr Sheridan’s 5th and 6th class won the senior, class category with their inspiring entry. Ms Mulholland, school coordinator for the competition and Mr Sheridan attended the presentation ceremony in Dublin City Hall with some of the winning students.
